Week of May 6

Sunday Schedule:  Week 1, Day 5

Upcoming Events and Special Notes:
This week in grade four students continued with research in reading and writing.  Not only practicing how to synthesize information across texts and take organized research notes, but also starting to practice how we can write about the information we collect.  We used the attached "Phrases that Help Synthesize Related Information" to get us started!

In math, we're continuing our Unit of Fractions/Decimals.. Decomposing, Comparing, Adding, and Subtracting!

In science, we've wrapped up our stream table experiments and have made it to the Final Dam Project.  For this project, students will work together to build a dam using their stream table materials and the materials allotted for the project.  Students were excited to work on their initial plans this week and are even more excited to see them come to life next week!  We'd like to invite parents in for the afternoon of Tuesday, May 8 (about 2:00-3:00) to view our building of the dams and to see these scientists at work!  Please keep the afternoon open if interested in coming in, more information coming next week!

Reminders:
Our End-of-Module 4 Math Assessment is now uploaded to your student's ePortfolio for your viewing!
