Reminders:
Do you remember getting this email from our 4AN Room Parents?  One small reminder in case you missed it:  "In preparation for several upcoming activities this school year, we kindly request your monetary assistance to make these events a success.  That said, we are asking for each family to provide a one time donation of 5 OMR, which will go towards purchasing material resources such as crafts and supplies designed to enhance your child's learning experience.  We are also requesting that these donations be placed in a secure envelope with your child's name, and for it to be submitted to Mrs. Newman by Sunday, October 23.  We thank you in advance for your generosity and contribution."  Deadline has been extended!  Please have your student turn these in to me sometime next week if possible.

The Upcoming Events tab on the left hand side of the blog will continually be updated with important upcoming dates!  Mark your calendars!

Mad Scientists

Ask your scientist about how we used our knowledge of the properties of matter and this Clay Experiment to explore how physical change affects an object!  In this experiment, we really focused on forming a hypothesis and making and recording observations like scientists!

Upcoming Events and Important Notes:
New SpellingCity list is posted for the upcoming week!  Although you do not have to study over the weekend, they will be posted if you like to start studying and get a head start on the week!  Looking for alternative forms of spelling practice or some additional handwriting practice?  Spelling packets of all of our weekly lists with handwriting pages, cursive handwriting pages, flash card templates you can use for games (word sorts, matching, etc.), and a list of fun activities to try are now available!  I'm going to give these to every student this week, but after this week, please let me know if you would like them to continue coming home with your student.

Look for a copy of your student's Math Unit Summary for Module 1, the one we discussed at conferences, coming home on Sunday.

Our End-of-Module 2 Math Assessment will be on Thursday, November 17.  Keeping up with nightly homework assignments, whether your student is teaching you an Exit Ticket or assigned an IXL practice, is a great way to continue working with math skills we will see on the test!
