Week of April 23

Sunday Schedule:  Week 2, Day 1

Upcoming Events and Special Notes:
Last week students did not have a new spelling list as we were working on prepping a different kind of spelling list for this week, individualized spelling lists that contain handpicked words from the world around them!  All last week students were on the look-out for words that popped up in their reading, or in conversation, and were brainstorming some of those "pesky" words that "I can just never spell correctly" to add to their lists!  We're trying to be observers of the spelling all around us and notice words that we find interesting or tricky so that we can study and learn them and use them in the future!

Here is our list prep from last week (studying for this week) along with our list prep for next week's studying!

How will you see spelling lists come home?  When students find a word they want to add to their list for the following week, they record it in their planner and on our class list board!  Students will no longer have spelling lists on SpellingCity.  Each Thursday, your student will come home with their list for the following week in their planner.  We're working on labeling our lists so we know which week they go with and you do, too!

Reminders:
No school on Tuesday, April 25.  Wednesday, April 26 will be a Day 3.

Our Rhino Revolution fundraiser will be running until Sunday, May 7!

Week of April 17

Monday Schedule:  Week 1, Day 3

Upcoming Events and Special Notes:
A huge thank you to one of our very own grade four parents and her student!! Ms. Heike Tarpley and her daughter, Zoee, presented to all grade four classes last week, raising awareness about the Rhino Revolution organization and how it helps to face the growing issue surrounding the endangerment of rhinos.  You and your student can help support the cause by donating to our grade four fundraiser running through May 7!
