The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) computer-based assessments will continue next week.  Students will be doing the MAP Language Assessment on Sunday, October 18 and the MAP Math Assessment on Tuesday, October 20.  Again, data collected from the MAP assessments, along with other pieces of data, help us to plan for instruction in the classroom.  Please be sure to encourage your child to get a good night's sleep, to eat a good breakfast, and to do their best!

Parent Conferences are scheduled for Sunday, October 25 and Monday, October 26.  Reminder that TAISM is trying a new online scheduling system for Parent Conferences.  You should have received information about how to log-in and schedule your own conferences online!  If you have not received that information, or are having troubles accessing the online scheduling, please let me know.

Reminders:

The 4AN Blog and Homework Planner are great resources for updates about what's going on in the classroom!  I will typically update the 4AN Blog on the last day of the week with news for the upcoming week.  (I will also update SpellingCity lists at the same time.  That way, if you like to practice a little over the weekend, you have access to that resource.)

As always, feel free to email me or jot a note in the Homework Planner if you ever have questions!

Reminders:
Please remember to look for the Elementary School Newsletter that is sent home weekly via email.  This newsletter contains important information regarding school news and updates.

You've noticed the 4AN Homework Planner traveling home each night!?  In grade four, we work really hard on continuing to develop organization skills!  The Homework Planner acts as a resource to help students keep track of nightly homework assignments as well as important upcoming dates in our classroom.  They will ask you to sign it each night and I will sign it each morning.  This is a great tool for your student but also acts a great communication tool for us!  If you ever have a quick note, you can always jot it in the Homework Planner next to your signature and I will see it the next morning.  This is a great day-to-day communication tool from school to home and back from home to school.  Ask your student for a detailed description and see what they can tell you about it!
